MOBILE LABORATORY DETECTOR OF WATER LAKES |
|
The Control Program and Loss Reduction of
Sedapal, together with the installation of
domicile meters that allow the elimination
and control of waste and leakage within the
domiciles and performs tasks for the detection
of invisible leaks in their distribution networks.
|
|
With this purpose, Sedapal has implemented six especially
conditioned mobile laboratories, equipped with the
equipment and tools whose last generation technology
allows to locate the leaks in the network with a
high degree of precision.
Each mobile laboratory is equipped with an electronic
console or with a high sensibility correlator that
allows to capture the sound of water when there
is a leak in the system, and, thus, the leaks could
be located.
The laboratory also has implements such as punctual
leak detectors, geophones, pipe detectors, metal
detectors, besides complementary equipment and special
tools.
In the period included between January 1997 and
September 1999 has been reviewed and the invisible
leaks were located in 4187 km network. This elimination
leads to the recovery of drinking water to improve
the distribution in a flow estimated in 597 liters
per second.
The inspections have been performed in the following
