The business mission, vision and objectives of Sedapal as of the year 2000 are oriented to offer Excellence in Customer Service with high levels of productivity and profitability. Due to this reason, the implantation of the 2000 Business Management Project is in force, and it is Business Management System of the most recent technology.

The project involves the installation of an OPEN SGC Comercial Management Integrated System and the OPEN SGI Event Management System including the adaptation of the organizational structure, the optimization of the standards, processes and procedures and the formation of the future users of such systems .

In fact, the process entails much more than the simple installation of a software pack, it constitutes the beginning of a plan that, finally, would lead to the global transformation of the company, including the following :

Cultural Change: Focus on Client, Change of Image (new offices, new corporate image), Efficiency in the Management and Knowledge of Business.

Organizational Change: Reorganization of the Structures and associated operational processes, as well as the unification of the Standards and Procedures of Work .

It is very important to mention that the (SGC) Business Management System was the basis for the transformation of UNION FENOSA, a Spanish company that served as basis for the internalization of the company.

FUNCTIONAL ORGANIZATION OF THE PROJECT

The second stage of the project began in January 1998, with a term of execution of 14 months, being formalized through R.G.G. No. 023-98-GG the conformation of the Contrapart Group that would have the responsibility for the management, running and execution of the project .

It has been foreseen the greatest possible participation of the employees, that, directly or indirectly, are related to the commercial and operational and maintenance activities. Moreover, the coordinators in each Service Center have the function to serve as link and support in the execution of the tasks related to the exchange of information, documentation and procurement of opinions, consensual comments or suggestions of the staff involved .

The company UNION FENOSA contributes with its integrated methodology for the implantation of the systems that would allow the immediate application of corrective measures if any deviation is detected in the term or in the cost of execution of the planned activities.

The work methods are characterized for being flexible, dynamic, simple, clear and, particularly, participative.

Among the activities we mention the following:

1.-Organization:
Organization: It defines the organizational structure of the equipment that would draw and apply the detailed work plan, including the determination of the management and control procedures.

2.-Definition of Strategy:
It is oriented to the optimization of all the required activities .

3.-Conversion Planning:
It establishes the requirements necessary for the conversion of every information about the clients and the elements of the Water and Drainage Network and the data structure of the new system .

4.-Development and Technical Support Strategy:
It defines the requirements and the installation strategy with regard to hardware, software and communications that would be supported by the new commercial and operational processes
